Information About Getting Around St. Thomas: Bus Service, Taxi Service, and Rental Cars.
St. Thomas Buses
The St. Thomas bus service is great for getting around town and to and from the airport, but if you are traveling outside of the main areas the service is sparse.
St. Thomas Taxis
There are taxis to be found at the airport, though they are shared rides and not private taxis, so it will take a little longer to get to your hotel. In order to get a quick ride with no stops in between the airport and hotel, you will want to call ahead to have a private taxi waiting for you. The cost will be slightly higher, but it is well worth the extra fee. If you do choose to take one of the available shared taxis, the fare will be around $3 up to $13 depending on your destination, then dropping as more people join the ride. There will be an additional fee for luggage, so it is best to settle on a fare before getting in the cab.
